@curvynyome — unapologetic — deserving of respect — worthy ⠀ ⠀ IN HER WORDS: “Unfortunately for you trolls im not going anywhere. Nothing that needs to be changed comes easy; mindsets have to be switched regarding what types of people and what body sizes are acceptable and deemed as beautiful, worthy and respected societally! ⁣ ⁣⠀ I am a plus sized Model, yes that is my job but I won’t turn away from injustices even if something doesn’t directly affect me, none of us are free until we ALL are. ⁣ ⁣⠀ I am worthy and deserving of respect and I’m unapologetic in loving who I am! It’s taken me a lot of work and unlearning to get here and to love myself wholeheartedly so I’ll be damned if I let someone behind a phone on the internet, who has no bearing on my life beyond social media attempt to tear me down.” — @curvynyome

STOP COMPARING YOURSELF AGAINST IMAGES THAT ARE FILTERED 🌻 ⠀ ⠀ In a world full of Facetune, try and remember that ‘just your face’ is more than good enough ❤️ ⠀ ⠀ I don’t judge anyone for using these apps. We all have insecurities and blemishes that we can easily just blend away with a few taps. ⠀ ⠀ The problem comes when we’re on the receiving end and viewing these photos. We are so overexposed to unrealistic standards set by celebrities and influencers who are altering their bodies and faces for a certain image. I saw this image of Khloe Kardashian (swipe) and was a little taken aback by just how different she looked. ⠀ ⠀ Let this serve as a reminder that what you see on social media is someone else’s highlight (and often altered) reel, and it doesn’t make you any less perfect 💘🦋 ⠀ ⠀ It’s ok to have acne, scarring, texture, and blemishes 🍒❤️

[MENTAL HEALTH WEEK PART 002] 🧠❤️ ⠀ ⠀ Reminder: it’s ok to take this time to slow down. It’s ok to skip the workouts and take days off. ⠀ You don’t have to participate in the social media exercise frenzy. ⠀ You can choose when you want to move and when you just don’t feel like it serves you. YOU are in control and you don’t have to abide by anyone else’s standards ❤️

GAINING WEIGHT IS NORMAL 👏🏼 [mental health week part 001] 🧠 Share something that has helped your mental health in the comments 🦋❤️ ⠀ ⠀ Recognise that your body is ALWAYS changing. Our weight fluctuates throughout the day. How we look changes throughout the day. How we feel changes throughout the day. ⠀ ⠀ Recognise that your purpose in life isn’t being 10lbs lighter. It’s doing the things you love and being with the people you love. ⠀ ⠀ Don’t let the idea of being in a smaller body keep you from living your life, freeing your thoughts, and doing the things you love. You are so much more than the number on the scale or the size on your jeans. ⠀ ⠀ In light of mental health week, I will be sharing some of my struggles with body image, my relationship with food, and my mental health over the next few days alongside my regular scheduled foodie posts. It’s so important that we take care of ourselves, especially now more so than ever! 🦋❤️ Sending lots of love to you. #normalizenormalbodies

VEGAN TACOS ✨ ⠀ ⠀ I looooove burritos and tacos. They’re a go to lazy meal that is guaranteed to taste good with minimal effort. Plus they’re perfect to whip up when you’re hosting guests - although this probably won’t be happening for a while yet 😭 What’s your favourite filler combo? ⠀ ⠀ Some of my favourite healthy taco/burrito combos: taco + black beans + grilled veggies + salsa taco + salsa + lettuce + refried beans + rice taco + sweet potato + guac + black beans

WHAT I EAT IN A DAY ✨ please note that I will always have more snacks than is actually photographed ❤️ I’m going to make a full what I eat in a day post tomorrow including all snacks and nibbles 👀 ⠀ ⠀ The amount that I eat is what feels right for my body and will vary from day to day. I choose not to count calories or macros as I don’t find it is necessary for my overall health, nor do I believe it is the best approach for everyone. There is no one size fits all approach to diet and food - you have to do what feels right for YOU. Learn to listen to your body’s signals. Remember that you don’t need permission to eat, and that the calorie calculator app or the girl on Instagram doesn’t know what’s best for you ❤️ only you know this!

FOODS THAT KEEP YOU FULL LONGER ✨ ⠀ ⠀ Let’s stop demonizing carbs and fats! These foods are all high in fibre and will help you feel satiated after eating. The fibre in food will feed your little gut microbes and improve your digestive process ✨ ⠀ ⠀ I use all of these as staples in my cooking: Lentils - perfect for curries and soups Quinoa - I love this in my lunch bowls Oats - these are my morning staple! Bananas - ideal for smoothies and oats Nuts - high in fat and a good source of protein Seeds - I put hemp seeds on everything 🥳
