Happiest here, in the mountains—especially when summer, fall and winter all showed up at once💛 Seeing bright blue glacial water, golden larches and a beautiful dusting of snow made camping in freezing temperatures worth it🏕😆⁣ ⁣ All images were shot on the Lexar Professional 2000x SD Card. Fast and reliable, even in the tough conditions! @lexarmemory #ShotonLexar #LexarPartner

I usually go to Washington this time of year in search of cozy cabins—because the state is filled with them!🧡🌲 But because I live north of the border, and I can’t cross it for obvious reasons, I am excited to find cabins, treehouses and other cool places to hide away this winter season in BC. ⁣ ⁣ I’m in full research mode, but if you know of any, shoot me a DM🥰⁣ ⁣ Photo shot by @brendinkelly

This is one of my favourite moments from our multi-day trek in Tombstone Territorial Park🥰 🇨🇦⁣ ⁣ To be honest, before we hit the trail, I was so nervous and anxious that the weather wasn’t gonna be going to be what I wanted it to be—gloriously sunny. I checked the weather forecast almost every day I had service... but it seemed to change every hour😂 I know now, through experiencing this park and what the locals have told me, that the weather in the Tombstone Range can’t be predicted.⁣ ⁣ We hiked through sun, rain, wind, snow and rainbows while on this trek—and some of my favourite moments wouldn’t of even happened if it was only sunny. Like this moment pictured above...⁣ ⁣ We were hiking in the rain for an hour or so and all of a sudden the sun burst out of the clouds for maybe a few minutes—which made the rain look MAGICAL as it was falling. Another moment was when we woke up to a beautiful blanket of snow around the campground making the mountains look incredible. On the previous afternoon, Julia and I were huddled in the tent while it was pouring rain and all of a sudden the rain stopped and a huge rainbow came out.⁣ ⁣ So, if you’ve got this far in my caption, thank you and, my take away is that even though having pure sun in the forecast when you’re hiking is ideal and easy, it isn’t necessarily a bad thing if the weather’s all over the place because you may miss the small, unique + special moments that only YOU get to experience💛 ⁣ ⁣ Photo shot by @chrisrlocke

When I went to Patagonia last April, I was so fixated on the epic mountains that I didn’t take that many photos of the fall foliage. I don’t know what I was thinking🙈 I feel like I need to go back and capture so much more of it because when we were hiking there was fall colours everywhere! I did mange to snag a few though... enjoy💛🍁⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ Thanks @meghanorourkee for helping me with some of these☺️

In a world where everything, anything and anyone is at your fingertips, it’s hard not to play into the comparison game. I have compared myself to my peers, people who inspire me or people who seem like they have everything figured out way too many times to count. It’s hard to not let your thoughts go there—or at least it is for me. ⁣ ⁣ It took me years to realize the importance of getting out of the negative spiral that is comparison. Here are a few things I learnt that I want to share in case you feel the same way. I realized that I am my sole competition because improving my own skills to be better than I was yesterday is the only goal. I realized that my own journey is different from anyone else’s. I realized that putting energy into thinking negative thoughts about myself is a pure waste of my time. I realized that not everyone has it figured it out—it just may seem that way.⁣ ⁣ So, if you’re anything like me, the next time you start comparing yourself to someone else, remember that you’re right where you’re supposed to be…. and you’ll get where you want to go. As my best friend tells me, be kind to yourself💛⁣ ⁣ Photo shot by @juliiathompson

Three hours before these photos were taken, I was sleeping soundly at a campsite a few miles away—cozy in these @icebreakerNZ’s 100% merino wool layers💛✨ When my alarm went off at 5:00am, I packed my bag, laced up my boots and hit the trail so I could get to the summit by sunrise. These base layers are my go-to (and have been for a while) because I can wear them on the trail, while I sleep, and everywhere in between. Not only that, they help regulate my body temperature, are breathable, odor-resistant and ethically made. ⁣ ⁣ Did you know wearing natural fibres, like 100% merino wool, is an easy way you can reduce your impact on the planet? It’s renewable, biodegradable, sustainable and is better for our oceans because there’s no plastic in it (unlike synthetic fibres).⁣ ⁣ Making small changes like this will make a big difference for our planet in the long run, especially if we do it all together! So, if you’re in the market for some cozy base layers (especially as we head into the colder months), check out @icebreakerNZ—and #movetonatural 🌎

Last week, I saw the weather forecast was looking promising so I called a friend, packed my backpack with my camping gear + camera gear and was on the road the next day🎒We headed out for one last fall hike before the mountains turned into a winter wonderland—and I’m so happy we did.⁣ ⁣ All these images were shot on the @lexarmemory #PRO2000xSD Card—which is the fastest card I’ve ever shot on, is reliable and has loads of space so you can shoot for days #shotonlexar #lexarpartner 💛📸⁣

Hoping to soak in some hot springs this year❤️✨ Fall and winter are the best seasons for it because there are less people out and about, the temperature outside has dropped and the water is extra toasty. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Photo by @braybraywoowoo

One thing about the fall season that I love is that it takes me to places I never thought I would go🌎💫 As you’ve probably gathered by now... I have a huge thing for mountains😜 So, naturally, at every possible moment, I travel to places that are mountainous.⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ Well, in South Carolina there are no epic mountains like there are in Canada, Norway or New Zealand—but I still left just as shocked as I did when I left those epic countries. There’s something about being surrounded by vivid colour in the most unlikely place I ever thought I’d be💛🍂 ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ Photo shot by @juliiathompson

To get to this spot, it usually takes a few hours... but it took us hours loooonger because @juliiathompson and I couldn’t get over the fall foliage💛🍂 It was one of the first times we hiked among this amount of reds, oranges and yellows. ⁣ ⁣ Swipe over to see a landscape shot of this spot. This place was huge!
