Don’t forget to stretch! I’ve been working on making a routine for better mobility. Here are a few of the movements I have been working with... Remember to stay hydrated and fuel your body with good nutrition so your joints can repair themselves as well. Don’t forget about your breathing either, you can use this time spent stretching as an opportunity to relax and sort of meditate. Deep breathing can also reduce stress levels, which can impair recovery and overall health. It’s not all about throwing weight around and being done with it. You’ll thank yourself in a year from now if you incorporate even a basic stretching and mobility routine a few times a week if not daily. These are mostly lower body and trunk mobility movements, but that’s definitely been a focus of mine. Keeping my hips healthy, the lower back, hamstrings and hip flexors loose yet stable. There’s always room for improvement, and don’t take recovery for granted. You need it to come back stronger and avoid injury. It’s just as important to work on your recovery as it is to work like mad in the gym. It’s about finding a balance, and respecting your body, not just wearing it down all the time. I will do some for upper body, shoulders, neck, back and arms in another post. Just some basic stretching ideas to maybe spiff up your routine. Also been trying to work on a better mind muscle connection. It might seem weird at first, but I have been practicing just flexing in the mirror. I’ve always been fascinated by art, especially old sculptures and paintings of the human form. It’s a nice way to be able to incorporate the love of fitness with the love of art. I will address mind muscle connection in another post as well, but it is also important if you want to get the most out of your muscle contractions. Anyway, there’s work to be done. Let’s get to it.

Friends - after that January release I knew I needed to do a trip and go recharge the batteries a bit. So thankful for some winter camping and a beautiful time out on the ice! • Upon my return, I immediately dove into (finally) moving into a house with a studio specifically for The Wild Electric.
