Happy Wednesday everyone💗 We made it half way through the week🤪🥳😎. I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling a lot more positive this week☺️I’m not sure if it’s the sunny weather or the roadmap out of lockdown, but I’ve had a really productive week so far😀I feel a lot more optimistic for what this summer might bring☀️ Although I’m not even sure what normal is anymore😂. But that’s okay, whether your happy about the recent announcement or feeling anxious and apprehensive, both are valid emotions and are completely normal to be feeling🌸 My advice: 💫Just take each day as it comes 💫 Dont plan too far in advance 💫 Ease yourself back into social life, we’ve been in lockdown for so long now it’s bound to feel strange when we’re allowed to socialise with friends/family again 💫Speak to people, I’m sure your not the only one who is feeling anxious 💫MAKE YOUR MENTAL HEALTH A PRIORITY. If something doesn’t serve you, or fill you with joy DONT DO IT. Your needs are a lot more important than anyone else’s. On a side note how killer was today’s Warrior Wednesday. Wow is all I have to say😂 Well done for everyone who completed it💪🏻. Mental health issue over-identification can be crippling, and many mental health issues become things of the past when we loosen the grip on them.⁠ ⁠ There are millions of people in the world, some of which I know very well, that have experienced regular anxiety, panic attacks, overwhelm, self-harm, depression and disordered eating. They were open to growing through and learning from their experience and strived to move past it, and they did.⁠ ⁠ 💥 It's dangerous when people attach their mental health problems to the identity of who they are and label them as permanent.💥⁠ ⁠ Take me for example...⁠ If I don't eat well, sleep well and exercise, then I develop depressive symptoms. ⁠ ⬇️⁠ If I add loads of negative thoughts and self-criticism, then I experience anxiety. ⁠ ⬇️⁠ If I catastrophise and create a belief that I can't cope, then I experience a panic attack. ⁠ ⬇️⁠ If I am distracted by my friends, smile and laugh and then return home and dive back into negative thinking I could seem to have a personality disorder.⁠ ⁠ 🌀 Are any of these permanent aspects of my existence to which I have no control? No. ⁠ 🌀 Do I experience the above anymore? ⁠ No⁠ 🌀 Do I feel waves of emotions on a regular basis? ⁠ Yes⁠ 🌀 Do I have mental health issues because I feel things? No⁠ ⁠ ❣️ Tread carefully about how you see your mental health issues. They often pass with the right support, guidance and self-care.❣️ ⁠ ⁠ ⁠

Idc, idc! I do Zumba daily. Especially on my "rest" days. Dancing is so much fun and honestly one of the things I look forward to the most every single day. Cardio is such an amazing tool to combat fatigue and depression. Fresh, oxygenated blood is pumped to the brain, increasing brain function. Endorphins that are released as you are moving your body elevate your mood and give you a boost! Jumping rope before or after resistance training? This is a common question that I noticed many have. In my opinion, there is no wrong answer, it is very subjective. Some do it as a way to warm up while others like to jump rope as a workout finisher. I cannot jumprope before any type of resistance training. I tried and always failed. Pre-cov!d I enjoyed making visits to Crossfit a solid part of my routine. I looked forward to it and motivation/commitment came fairly easily. Come to now and I’ve probably done 4 workouts this year. And they’ve been half-hearted. . If working out isn’t at the top of your agenda, exciting you or feasible because of time, kit, mental space or injury then know this. There’ll be times in life when your priorities, capacities and capabilities shift and change in every area of your life. Right now doing your best to cope with this version of life is enough. . Weight gain transformation ☺️ The start of my weight gain journey with @courtneydblack ➡️ now 💪🏼 Our mind can take us into some of the darkest places and sometimes we let it get the best of us. It’s never easy changing the way you think and the habits you’ve formed but when you realise what your doing is actually causing more harm than good something clicks. When I seen @courtneydblack transformation it really gave me the kick up the bum I needed to change my mindset and habits and it’s crazy what we can achieve when we put our minds to it! I’m now fuelling my body with the right foods and working out with weights and hiit with @courtneydblack and becoming a strong determined women. The freedom I have around food is incredible if I want something I will eat it and that’s the best feeling in the world to be able to eat the foods I had ‘feared’ for so long. Day 24 LIZARD STRETCH This is one of my favourite stretches for opening up your hips and ankles. It will also help you get into a squat position with more ease. Level 1- start with both knees bent. Keeping an anterior pelvic tilt, hinge and place your hands on the floor. If you can’t get to the floor, bring the floor to you and place your hands on some yoga blocks. Maintaining your front foot flat on the ground, begin to make small circles 5-10 in each direction. Level 2- same as above but lengthen your back leg and push forward to load the front foot more. Level 3- add in two arm or one arm push up. Be sure to rotate from your hip and keep your spine stacked. Before you perform this movement, try out 3-5 squats. Then do your best lizard impression and then retest those squats. Did you notice a change or ease in your movement? Before starting my day, I'd also listened to a very powerful sermon. . I'd had a brilliant session with a client (YESTERDAY'S POST), decided to finish the training plan by myself and keep the mellow music going, feeling SO good! . I'm not the greatest of singers, but singing makes me FEEL good. The camera picks up all I do when I train, so decided to leave in some of my moments to show you guys a different side of me 😉 . Got carried away and actually sang a whole song, dedicated to God, that I might post later... . More importantly, I LOVE hearing my boys singing around the house! It tells me they their SPIRIT is light and that at that particular moment, their heart is JOYFUL. . The sad reality is that I’ve pretty much lost all of my muscle and hard work from the past year of dedicated leg days... Lately I’ve been focusing harder on cardio / abs, meaning that I’ve therefore lost muscle / weight, it’s so hard to maintain one thing and also build another... For now, I’m putting Glutes to the back of my mind, despite I’m not where I want to be in progress, I’ll get there again once the gyms reopen. For now I am focusing on the hella lot of miles I still have left to complete, which means lots of cardio and taking care of my body with gentle home workouts! Bicycle Crunch Levels 1-3 Instructions: Start by lying on the ground with your lower back pressed flat onto the floor as shown in level 1 video. Your head & shoulders should be slightly raises off the ground. place your hands lightly on the sides of your head. Lift one leg just off the ground and extend our lift the other leg and been you knew towards your chest whilst twisting through your core so the opposite arm comes towards the raised knee. Your don’t need to touch your elbow to knee, instead focus on moving through your core as you turn your torso. Your elbow should stay in same posting relative to your head throughout. It’s sometimes best to think shoulder to knee as you move. Lower your leg Ans a#m at same time while bring the opposite limbs to mirror the movement. Keep alternating sides until you reach your desired Reps.
