Social justice cannot wait. It is not an optional “add-on” to environmentalism. It is unfair to opt in and out of caring about racial injustices when many of us cannot. These injustices are happening to our parents, our children, our family and our friends. I’m calling on the environmentalist community to stand in solidarity with the black lives matter movement and with Black, Indigenous + POC communities impacted daily by both social and environmental injustice. Please swipe to learn more about intersectional environmentalism and take the pledge. Here is a list of some of my favorite accounts I follow that raise awareness for intersectional environmentalism, please tag more in the comments!: @mikaelaloach @toritsui @jamiesmargolin @queerbrownvegan @diandramarizet @wildginaa @aditimayer @naturechola @nativeinla @amazemegrace @shecolorsnature @switchbackshawty @bleavitt8 @badgalbrooky @teresabaker11 @ImKevinJPatel @Xiyebeara @lainetew @sophiakianni @xiuhtezcatl

Hard to put words on such a strong feeling of lack. I miss it all. From the grain of sands in my hair to the glisten of the waves in the evening sun, the vitality of the ocean is by far what I miss the most these days. ⠀ ⠀ Salty water has an incredibly healing effect on me, so here’s to staying motivated and working to bring my life back by her side 💙 What about you, I want to hear your thoughts: what natural landscapes heal you most? 📸 // @rubenville⠀

I’m screaming “murder” in this picture. Murder of those who will suffer the most in the climate crisis. I want to stand in the street and scream at the top of my lungs again. It feels increasingly bizarre to be fighting for climate justice without also addressing racial justice. I don’t usually talk about racial issues on here but now I want to be VERY CLEAR about how closely intertwined they are with climate justice. There can be none without the other. . As a psychology graduate, I am aware of entering a system full of institutionalised racism. This is why I will not be silent and you shouldn’t either. . USE YOUR PRIVILEGE. I see covert racism every day and we need to start calling it out when we see it. We’re all guilty of oppression when we choose not to. We can do better. I’m screaming “murder” because we know. Every day, by staying silent, we are complicit in black people’s suffering here and around the world. White silence is violence. I’m screaming “murder” because right now, our brothers and sisters of colour are the ones most affected by environmental disaster and degradation. . As environmentalists, we have a responsibility to treat racial and climate issues as one. We are one global human family and as such, we are obliged to fight for those of us deliberately marginalised by this toxic system. Use your platform. Don’t just talk about it online, but with your friends, family and co-workers. Educate yourself, read books from black authors. Donate to racial justice organisations. Demand change. Every human being on the planet is born equal and racial justice must become an everyday practice. Check my story highlight “BLM” for more resources. grateful for life ☀️💛 . For real tho, space docos have my mind on another level recently. I usually look to the ocean and our environment when it comes to throwing on an informative show, but this weekend it was black holes👽 • We’re such tiny creatures on a big planet in an ever expanding sky but yet we’re having such a big impact. Grateful for the beautiful planet we’re given and the people trying to take care of it 🌏 • • • #bondi #bondibeach #oceanlover #environmentalist #earthlove #sustainableliving #plasticfree #plasticsucks #recycle #oceanconservation #oceanlife #environmentallyfriendly #environmentallyconscious #sustainablelifestyle #zerowaste #ecowarriors #australia #savetheocean #savetheplanet #savetheearth #loveourplanet #savethereef #earthdayeveryday #naturelover #traveler #travelaustralia #travelaus #traveller #saynotoplastic #australialife

the cat is out of the bag - this is the real length of my dreads 😆 I needed them extended to the length my last set of dreads has been.. before I've combed them out, afterwards cut them short and THEN getting a perm 🤦‍♀️ oh dear, what was I doing to my hair 😂 it was time to remove the extensions tho, they were just too heavy, in the way and felt strange now 🤷🏼‍♀️ time to let them grow all naturally ☺️❤️

Plastic pollution sucks, but we peliCAN make a difference. Everyday switches are such a positive thing to do and often you save money too! Whether its swapping something each week or once a month, you are having an impact. Ask supermarkets to remove plastic, if you notice a product change that increases plastic use, contact them and point it out as a mistake. Fantastic work by @lisa.bagwell

Indian Pitta (Pitta brachyura) Also called as Naorang (Hindi) or Navrang (Marathi). A very brightly coloured passerine bird native to the Indian subcontinent. It inhabits scrub jungle, deciduous and dense evergreen forest. Although very colourful, it is usually shy and hidden in the undergrowth where it picks insects on the forest floor. It has a distinctive two note whistling call which is heard at dawn and dusk. That's why it is also called as "Six-O-Clock" bird in Tamil. Indian pittas roost in trees. They feed on insects and other small invertebrates that they usually pick up from the ground or leaf litter. #wildindia #wildbirds #birdsofindia #wildlifeawareness #pitta #instamood #instagram #instasketch #instagood #forest #illustrationartists #birdillustrations #illustratorsoninstagram #jungle #navrang #beak #jewelbird #green #wildlifeperfection #wildlifeaddicts #biology #biodiversity #environment #environmentalist #stone #ground #birdwatching #birding #bird

Planet must be out over profit, because at the end of the day there is no profit without the planet. . . . @oceanrebuild • • • • • • Which companies or businesses need to rethink how they create their products?🤷 As you probably already know plastic is a growing problem on our planet. 😢 Most products are created out of plastic which is perfect for companies as they are inexpensive to produce and really durable. Unfortunately, plastic is made from fossil fuels which contribute to global warming. 😬 The conveniences plastics offer, however, led to a throw-away culture that reveals the material’s other downsides, like polluting our oceans and rivers. 😩 But it is not only plastic!! Many companies like Nestlé have been buying their palm oils from companies that were destroying rainforests. This made their products cheaper to produce which made their profit margins greater. 🤑 Interim this damages the planet more than we can think!! 🥺😭 I truly believe we all have the courage to step up and mention what companies or businesses you think need to make a change to PLANET OVER PROFIT!! So comment who you think below!! 👇 Join the fight against plastic pollution by following us 👉 @oceanrebuild #climatechange #sustainability #eco #ecofriendly #earth #sustainable #choosetogozero #cleanplanet #environmentalist #oceanplastic #plasticpollution #planetoverprofit #plasticpollutes #globalwarming #stopclimatechange #globalwarmingisreal #savetheplanet #noplanetb #pollutionfree #climatestrike #protecttheearth #environmentallyconscious #savetheenvironment #savemotherearth #nopollution #saveearth🌍 #fightforafuture #extinctionrebellion #FridaysForFuture #actnow
