“I don’t think I am going to count calories, I don’t see myself doing that forever”. ^^ that is an *awful* excuse not to count calories by the way. Here is the thing. I get some pushback from people sometimes on counting calories because they tell me it is not sustainable long term. I get it. You don’t want to count calories for the rest of your life. You don’t want to be using my fitness pal and weighing your food everyday for the rest of your life. Well, here is the thing, you aren’t supposed to do that. That is not what calorie counting is for. 
Why do you go to college for 4 years (or 8, 12, whatever)? So you can gain the appropriate knowledge in your field to then go on and do your job at an efficient rate forever. You don’t spend the rest of your life doing homework and taking tests. But you do it for a short period of time in order to gain the appropriate knowledge you need in order to live q sustainable life in your career field. Calorie counting in the same concept. I don’t need you to count calories forever no. But I do need you to do it for at least 30, 60, 90 days. The knowledge you gain about food during that time period will allow you to then have you NOT have to do it forever. You will learn what foods are high in protein, what foods fill you up for low calorie, what foods you can eat in moderation and what foods you may want to include more in your daily life. It is unmatched the amount of knowledge you will gain during the time of *legitimately* counting calories. 
Not half assing it, guessing on portion sizes, and not using a food scale. That won’t teach you sh*t. But if you actually put your time and effort into it, it can be the short term tool you need in order to be able to live a healthy sustainable lifestyle where you don’t have to do it anymore. Please, realize this. Most people don't know what they are talking about when it comes to health and fitness. It's not their fault. There's so much clever marketing, and terrible fitness advice, that it is no wonder that those who are actually trying to do it sustainably feel overwhelmed. Don't fall for the shiny stuff. The shortcuts may seem sexy, but ultimately they will lead to a much longer, more frustrating journey. Just take the long scenic route. It'll take longer. It'll be more enjoyable. You will be stronger. You will have built the habits to sustain it. That is the most important thing... Building the habits to sustain it. You can get in really good shape, but if you can't sustain it, you are just going to rebound and make it harder for yourself to lose it again. Just be patient, be consistent, and if you find you are not being consistent, here are some things to look at: - Your environment. (Keep trigger foods out of the house, keep a bowl of fruit in plain sight) - Your friends. (Surround yourself with people who are trying to better themselves) - Your plan. Went for another lovely long walk today. We walked to visit my brother in law and sister in law to have a quick peek at our new nephew and to say hello to our older nephew! Started off from where we live to their house and then went back on ourselves. We were going to walk further and longer but munchkin became hungry so had to get home for his feed. I was a sweaty mess but I love it! I’m hoping it will help me sleep better at night as sleeping has become so difficult as I’m not doing much. We walked for nearly 2.5 hours and walked a distance of 4.79 miles and I burned 528 cals, not bad for a Wednesday afternoon! Sticky sesame chicken salad🥗🤤 100% took inspiration from @weightlosswithrosie for this one! This was honestly amazing and completely changed my view on salads. I’m definitely the kind of person who always HATED salads and couldn’t see how anyone liked them, but I just didn’t know how to make a salad taste good!! This is a super easy and quick recipe which is high in protein and filling!
