Had a slice of cured ham in my lunchtime sandwich. Half an hour later there were itchy blotches all over my arm and wrist and an antihistamine tablet down the hatch. Goddammit 🤬 This however went down a treat. Braised lamb with a no tomato sauce. Blitzed onion, red cabbage, red pepper, garlic, dash of olive oil. Added almonds to the lamb, banged the sauce in when done and did some quinoa and broccoli on the side. 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗯𝗼𝗱𝘆 𝗛𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗻 These vegan, grain free, top allergen free, refined sugar free, no bake , 3 ingredient Hamantaschen were born out of allergy necessity. Frustration can be fuel to create. Before going to a Purim party several years ago, I broke down in tears. How was I going to include my child? I came up with the idea of forming my favorite bliss ball recipe into triangles and stuffing them with allergy-friendly chocolate. I created a total hit for my child. My tears turned into a smile. We created a tradition. The mixture is so easy to make with Thermomix. You weigh in equal parts unsulphered, organic dried apricots and shredded coconut. To that you add a heaping tablespoon of raw cacao along with a good pinch of pink salt. Thermomix blends this up like magic. Now all you have to do is shape the mixture into triangles and fill with them with chocolate chips. Apricot goes so well with chocolate and apricot is a classic, favorite Hamantaschen filling of mine. Chocolate and Banana Baked Oats 🍌🍫 Basically a healthy cake for breakfast, you really can't go wrong. If you're making this for your little one, a silicone and oven proof dish would be ideal. That way, you can serve it straight to the table once cooled a little. ☑️ Vegan ☑️ Soya free Ingredients - 1/2 cup oat flour (blend normal oats, GF if needed) - 1/2 cup DF milk - 1/2 tsp baking powder - 1tsp cocoa powder - 1/2 banana mashed - 1tsp vanilla essence - a few slices of banana for the top - peanut butter (optional) Method 1. Preheat the oven to 180. 2. If using, add a little peanut butter to the bottom of an oven proof dish. 3. Mix together all other ingredients, apart from the sliced banana, in a separate dish. 4. Pour the mixture into your oven proof dish. 5. Lay banana slices on top. 6. Bake for 15-20 minutes. Delicious tapas 😋😋 I love eating tapas or small plates because with my greedy nature it helps you feel like you’ve eaten and tried so much more than you can when you just order one larger thing. This was a takeout we got from @boqueronesheaton a few weeks ago. They’re a small independent restaurant on Heaton Road and their food is great. When we can dine in again I would strongly recommend going as they have a lovely space with a particularly beautiful ceiling. They also do the best cocktails! They update their menu often and I think their food and drinks are also really reasonably priced. As a bonus for me twice I’ve been when there were absolutely no nuts on the menu! CHERRY BAKEWELL BAKED OATS🍒 Super easy, nutritious but tasty baked oats! These make for a delicious breakfast served warm or a yummy cold snack bar too! Leo’s been off his breakfast lately but demolished these straight away today! I made these for Leo so I didn’t add any sweetener to the mix but if you are making for yourself or older children feel free to add in a little maple syrup or honey to sweeten! I just drizzled mine on top but Leo was happy having his as it was. Don’t forget to share this with someone who would love it!🍒 ⏰ Prep: 5mins ⏰ Cook:15 mins 👶🏽 Suitable from around 7/8 months due to the thick chewy texture but will vary from baby to baby! Swipe to see how I served to Leo (18 months old) Ingredients 1 very large ripe banana (or two small ones) 100g oats (GF if needed) 50g ground almonds 1 tbsp chia seeds 2 tsp flax seed (optional) 150ml whole milk (or plant based alternative) 85g frozen morello cherries (or fresh is fine) *OPTIONAL- 2 tbsp of maple syrup or honey (avoid this for under 2’s as it should be sweet enough from the banana, but definitely no honey for under 1’s as it’s not safe)* 1 tsp almond extract (optional) Flaked almonds for the top (optional) 1. Preheat oven to 180C/350F 2. In a bowl mash your banana 3. Add in your oats, ground almonds and seeds 4. In a microwaveable jug pour in your milk and add in your cherries pop in the microwave for roughly 1 min (or until the cherries are soft) 5. Once the cherries are soft mash them in the jug until the milk goes nice and pink 6. Pour the milk into the bowl and mix your ingredients together well 7. Pour into a lined loaf tin and spread evenly then sprinkle the flaked almonds on top and press in slightly 8. Pop in the oven for 15 mins or until fully cooked 9. Enjoy!
